It’s so much fun to watch other people figure things out. It’s the closest we can get to playing the game again.
It seems to me like you don’t actually know what this community is about and you’re just mad at the somewhat intentionally provocative title. You wouldn’t be the first.
We don’t want to take people’s cars away. We want good urban planning so that not using a car becomes a viable alternative. If done right this also improves the lifes of people who still need cars for various reasons. If you live in a rural area you’ll probably always need a car and that’s fine.
I understand why people do this but it’s still a fallacy.
I’m not sure what your point is. You come in here with this passive aggressive tone even though this community had nothing to do with the protest you’re talking about. I get that it made you mad and you need a place to vent but this is not it.
Also, forming your political opinion based on the fact that some people made you mad is fallacious reasoning and very immature. Even if the protesters were advocating for the same points this community does, them being annoying does not invalidate (or validate) any of the arguments. Funnily enough, good public transport is actually the best and often only viable way to meaningfully improve traffic so you’re acting against your own self-interest here.
It can be played pretty casually. A run usually takes around an hour but you don’t have to play it in one go. And on the base difficulty it’s pretty approachable. You definitely don’t have to play 500 hours to enjoy it. But you can if you want to :)
Nobody said anything about third-party articles. The page linked above is supposed to be a reference, not a tutorial. But the official Nix website also has actual tutorials.
Note that MAUI doesn’t officially support Linux.
But there are third party alternatives like Uno Platform or Avalonia UI that do.
Don’t be afraid to use a car if you have to. Reducing car dependency is great, but if you live in a place without proper infrastructure it can be almost impossible to completely ditch your car. In that case I’d suggest becoming active in local politics to try to improve the situation.
I’ve found some and it sucks if the one game that doesn’t work well is one you play a lot. For me it’s Trackmania. It works some of the time but often breaks. It seems like the issue isn’t with the game itself but with Ubisoft Connect, which is pretty shit even on Windows. Very annoying.
You’re trivialising a serious issue. If you had actually read the article you’d know that they’re definitely not just like any other public school and they’re not just “teaching them Chinese and about society”. It’s an obvious and disgusting attempt to eradicate Tibetan culture.
For a few seconds I was extremely confused why one would need a tool like this for the game Celeste.
Well yes, if you live in the middle of nowhere with literally no one else nearby, then public transport obviously doesn’t make sense. But that’s not where most people live.
A large part of the population in the US doesn’t have access to public transport not because it wouldn’t be viable, but because car-centric infrastructure was built instead. And often better designed cities were bulldozed to make room for it.
I was also going to recommend the Not Just Bikes video @Katana314@lemmy.world linked, definitely check it out!
and there isn’t one near me.
That’s exactly the problem that this community wants to fix.
If you have an iOS device and AirPods you can actually do this.
On another related note, I wish I could use my earbuds to listen to two devices at the same time. Like my phone and my Steam Deck.
