The narrative on ESPN a few days ago was “Tatum is the clear favorite because he’s the best player ok the best team.”
Blew my mind because Jokic’s numbers are insane right now and he’s on a great team, really don’t know how Tatum could be viewed as a clear favorite at this point.
I think a lot of that was a natural, bitter response to the very real sexism they face. Some of the ESPN Twitter post and community posts on YT are fucking brutal. Like legitimately disgusting in its bigotry. Bold faced misogyny, don’t even try to hide it. I don’t blame them for being bitter about it.
What they have now is built on everything that has been accomplished to this point. They were fighting for recognition. It didn’t look pretty but fighting isn’t always pretty.
Now they’re ascending and I’m honestly shocked at how well they handle the bullshit. They handle unwarranted criticism better than a lot of NBA players lmao
He plays with the emotion of a child. Everytime he makes a play, he has the biggest smile on his face like he’s having the best time of his life. When things aren’t going his way, dude literally looks like he’s about to cry lol
