Un Dorian Gray sin pasado, ni patria ni bandera.
I’m just a guy in the #pnw who likes going on adventures, and playing games with friends.
Three things I love: the Oxford Comma, irony, and missed opportunities.

Don’t they cry every time Dems are in office and try to raise the debt ceiling, which is in itself an unnecessary procedure.
Oh! Thanks, I missed that too. 😅
Same, though with Bluefin (non-gaming based sister version). It took a little adjustment to how I did things, but it’s been about a year, and I love the fact that it just updates in the background and my tinkering on the surface level won’t break anything.
Exactly, this. Down voting doesn’t mean disagree (well… it’s not supposed to at least, but we know how that often works out). Down voting is supposed to mark content as low quality, or not useful. Unhinged and angry meets that criteria.
Yeah, I thought the main devs were Latvian 🤔
The cruelty is the point with these people.
Yeah, I sometimes say USAian or United Statesian, but that obviously doesn’t flow. It exists in other languages, but not English.
Also, personal nitpick, I don’t love when the continent of America refers to both N and S America.
“But it’s one landmass!!1!” Yeah, so is AfroEurasia. Continents don’t actually have an agreed upon meaning, so… it’s just, like, my opinion man.
Yay Capitalist propaganda!
Someone else mentioned it, but another vote for Aurora-dx (-dx for the developer version). It’ll give you the KDE experience without having to worry about your underlying system, leaving you time to work on software dev in a containerized environment of your choosing. Arch is great if you want to customize and tinker with everything, but given your parameters, I think not worrying about that bit will make your life easier as you focus on what’s more important to you. As long as you reboot your computer from time to time, you’ll always have the latest version and can rollback easily if something goes wrong.
And as is tradition with Linux, it’s not like you have to use whatever you decide forever. Distro hopping is a time-honored tradition!
Another who loves Street Complete. Makes my evening walks less random. I love the idea of using open street maps, but the one thing keeping me on google is the real time traffic redirecting 🫤 I do use organic maps for hikes, it’s great for offline. I just wish there were some better option for traffic.
It’s not the exact same (a 1:1 replacement) but have you looked at Logseq as an alternative to Obsidian. It is open source and serves a lot of the same needs as a wiki-style editor, but may not be exactly what you need in Obsidian
There are dozens of us! But yeah, same.
I think Bazzite has a version that doesn’t start in game mode 🤔 Or use one of the sister versions if you don’t game often? Password on boot happens on both of mine, and coming back from sleep should be an option.
Not OP, but I’ve got Bazzite on my Steam Deck and Bluefin on my laptop as my daily. I’m rather loving the set it and forget it nature of it while still having plenty of room to play when I need to.
I just discovered bat and eza, which were already installed, along with fd though I haven’t played with that one yet. I’ve really liked the first two at least
No offense taken. We know we’re “a third sold country in a Gucci belt”. It’s not that it started 40 years ago, but that’s when it really took off, this speedrun to transferring wealth and power to the already wealthy. They purposely cut funding to education to make an easily manipulated populace, and have been using fear propaganda relentlessly for longer.
We also learned last time Trump was elected that most of our country was held together by gentlemen’s agreements and the idea that our constitution never considered irrational people would be elected.
Our system is broken, and the ones with the power to do anything about it have no interest in doing so.
I honestly don’t know how we recover from this. Stopping Trump is a bandaid. Rooting out the cancer… 🤷🏼♂️
Yup. The Democratic party is the Republican party of 40 years ago. The Republicans are obviously now literal nazis, fascists, kkk, the worst of the worst. That’s all we have and they have no interest in changing that.
Many of us like Sanders because he is a vocal option that is at least left of the status quo. But there are also so many of us that want European left policies. We just can’t get it to happen in a winner takes all style of representation. And capitalism.
Gotta keep that grift going
Dem President: Here’s my budget for the year and this is how much it would cost. Congress: We agree to pay for that. Dem President: Great, I need money to pay for things in the budget. Rep Congress: The president is irrationally spending money (on things we approved) we can’t possibly do that!
