I give you kudos for going American Heritage. It’s the best American English Dictionary. Way better than Webster.

What’s crazy is it would likely cost less in taxes to do!
I think the Trump presidency really warped them and their supporters to be more identarian stalwarts as opposed to the ideologically pillar able to defend the worst people for the right reasons.
For working class people home ownership was really the primary way to stabilize and build wealth. Which is important since we don’t have a social safety net, most of our retirement has been privatized, healthcare and education are dramatically more expensive etc. etc. and since working class folk can’t build up generational wealth we are moving into technosurfdom. I don’t know if it’s unique but it sure do suck over here for a lot of people.
I’m relatively lucky but shit be hard here.
Similarly, I changed my fiance’s ringtone to this song. I’m pretty proud of myself :)
I’m crying laughing at this one.
I don’t really know much about the sweat baby controversy, but whenever I see “bless your heart” it just comes of as weak tea as it avoids engaging with premises or arguments and condescends and I think it generally loses the argument from a third party perspective. At least I’ve never read it and thought, wow they really got them.
It might be trite but I always preferred agree to disagree as a disengage tactic. That’s just my two cents on internet discourse though.
Microsoft has made their os so annoying and I loath when their updates revert settings that took me an hour to find in the first place. Or worse, remove the settings and features I liked to shove some more bs ads and data harvesting down my throat.
So yeah, I’m planning on downloading Linux mint to a flash drive and giving it a try on one of my laptops this month.
unfortunately the democratic rank and file seem to have a humiliation kink cause the party heads keep humiliating their base and the base keeps voting for them.
A believe there have been quite a few articles published with interviews from former Boeing execs with who were around when the company went from engineer ran to finance ran. One of them I remember the former executive said part of why they will continue to not trust Boeing is they are only grounding planes to solve one problem at a time after it’s caused massive failure and not trying to engineer and solve all the problems they can so these failures stop happening mid flight.
They kind of look like patriot front rebranded.
I really liked a lot about the minish cap but the gacha game heart piece and the fact that you leave one of the three goddesses unhoused felt very antethitical to Zelda. Almost perfect otherwise.
who fact checks the fact checkers?
i feel like you just told us the inverse. Shoplift from target, just figure out what a felony in your area is and take less than that first though.
As a film electric rigger at home with a broken elbow because of a ladder fall, this shit hit close to home for me.
gaming and the abundance of software and third party support and tutorials on windows is why I haven’t taken the dive to linux yet. So yeah, if linux does gaming as well or better my migration is more and more likely.
As with most things American the more likely explanation is we played ourselves
Adblock plus was the standard for so long until maybe 5 or so years ago when they were bought out or something and they were hinting at letting some ads in. I think only the very online people switched to uBlock Origin before Adblock Plus tanked itself. That is all from hazy memory but it wouldn’t surprise me that normies got recommended Adblock Plus and used it until it didn’t work right only to seek out better options now that youtube is serving them so many ads.
I also work in the industry, light tech, and I went back to torrenting like a year ago. Feel pretty good about it. I actually had a paramount plus subscription that I cancelled after working on a paramount show. Fuck those guys.
I switched to chrome because they were the first to have each tab be it’s own process so one bad site/connection did crash the whole program. Also the cloud based password saving across devices was super convenient.
Firefox does both now too, has better ad blocking, and is a little less invasive and bloaty. A lot less invasive if you know how to set it up, which I don’t.
But yeah, Firefox is my guy again
