  • Protected bike lanes also keep regular car traffic moving more smoothly. By reducing the lanes, which reduces the ability of the (left lane speeder), who tailgates everyone thinking that the red-light ahead of them would have been green if they were driving faster. Single lane roads with turn lanes, keep traffic moving at a regular speed pace, which in many cases is better than a two lane road with zig-zagging cars.

As a public transit user, and a small car driver, I appreciate the smooth 20 > 40mph single lane roads with protected bike lanes, makes sense to me.

  • me over hear with my gigabit-ethernet plugs in every wall as if they were as important as electricity… upgrade those suckers to 10-gig-ethernet, and wifi-has nothing over other than mobility… mobility until you leave the room… sounds about like being on a wire.

wireless needs a better understanding, and for most that have no understanding they just see faster as better, when no wireless is better than a wired connect, that is why the cellar towers, fiber connection, and even coax-connections all are needed to “power the wireless”.

i’m shocked at how many new or remodeled homes have no “ethernet port” but yet they will have power plugs-n-mass every where in the house, electricity for everything, and then they plugin 5Ghz repeaters into all the wall sockets so that they get decent room to room speeds.

  • I guess there is a difference in frequency. I fill up once every two weeks, at 510 miles to the tank. I tend to do it when I run an errand near a gas station that has the best quality gas, and the best prices. I tend to see the same attendants, and they are always on top of every car there, and have mine filling in no time flat.

I do recognize that in the east, many cars would pull up and get only $5 in gas, very quickly, and then drive away. I get that scheduling a moment to stop and let someone fuel up your rocket-ship is a a little more of a hassle. But the last many years living in Oregon have been a blessing I’ll continue to look for.

Thankfully attendants will still be available, and there is no penalty to the customer for getting “Full Service”, so we both can get what we desire.

  • I was about to say. I appreciate every time they agree to pump my gas. The convenience, and the speed of just staying in your car is awesome!

Pick a better gas station is what I have to say to people that are upset at how the service was at one gas station.

Having grown up in the east, and the size of MEGA GAS STATIONS that let cars just SIT PARKED IN THE GAS STALL was the true goal of this bill. It was about commercializing the “store” because there is no profit in the gas industry.

I’ll still search out and return to gas stations that employ attendants.

    Sad day.
