I hopped between distros for a long time. Before writing Linux off I suggest giving MX-Linux a shot. I’ve been loving it. It’s super solid. My only issue with it is that I can’t seem to get the right power settings set for closing my laptop but it’s probably something I’m doing wrong.
I played briefly at launch and stopped until about 2 months ago and picked it up again. I had a ton of fun. They fixed (almost) all of my gripes.

I’ve been looking for a job for 3 months and in that time came across at least 4 postings pretending to be a company for social engineering purposes. There are nefarious actors out there collecting information. My advice is to use a job board to find out who’s hiring and then apply through THEIR website, not the job board. I’ve talked to 3 different HR departments saying that they’re aware someone is posing as them on LinkedIn and no, they’re not hiring.
If I was employed by the employer, 100% they’ll get the address. This is for an APPLICATION. That you don’t even know for sure is the actual company. I hope people aren’t just giving their address out to any faceless “person” on the Internet that asks.
But I do agree that it’s a ridiculous thing to require. I also think it’s just bots collecting data. Plenty of fake jobs on LinkedIn from my experience.
I think they’re just trying to verify that you’re from a country they want to hire from and that you have a physical address. I just give them City Hall’s address because it’s in my same zip code and I doubt anyone’s going to verify that I physically live there.
Not to hijack from the OP, but would you change your reply if someone was feeling similarly but wasn’t yet in their first role yet? I’m coming out of 2 years of private mentorship and have spent the last almost 3 months applying with barely a whisper of a reply from a fraction of these jobs so I’m a bit down on myself. I felt confident a month ago but now I’m slinking back applying to jobs in my old industry.
VPN is connected. I have gotten bursts of up to 180kbps downloads that slowly deteriorate to nothing. Currently sitting at 0 upload, 0 download. Collecting bonus points for seeding I guess? But I have no idea what the issue is. I tried switching to a random port and I saw some activity for a couple seconds, but it quickly went to 0 again. I’m so tilted.

While the file is downloading I do not see any uploading happening either. I was messing around trying to set up a vpn docker container last night and couldn’t get everything playing nicely but I’m not even seeing any downloading going on anymore either.
Docker ports are 1:1 mapped. 63430:63430. I’ve mapped all the ports 1:1, added them to the firewall for tcp and udp on the device AND port forwarded them through the modem.
Separately, I’m also getting 0 upload on other devices that aren’t docker containers. Seems like my ISP is just blocking all upload traffic. I see peers connect and disconnect.
I shouldn’t be, I own a single family home. I’ll research this further though.

The server is exclusively wired so I can’t try it on a hotspot but I can try connecting my laptop to a hotspot and check connections between them. I don’t have friends or family or a friendly network I can try anywhere nearby, unfortunately.
I can try creating a torrent sometime soon but I need to take a break. I’m starting to see the terminal when I close my eyes.
Quick preface, this isn’t meant to be disrespectful or confrontational, I’m genuinely curious, but what are you playing while docked? I bought the dock and have only a tiny bit of buyer’s remorse because I feel like anything put up on the big screen is so low quality that it’s not even worth it and just either stream it from my PC to Deck or play on the PC directly. I admit I may be doing something wrong, I don’t have the time to fiddle with it to optimize.
