If we could just work out how to efficiently mill waste plastic into 15 μm or so sizes, we’d then be able to mix the plastics directly into our wheat flours and whey protein powders. Why try to beat plastic when we could just become plastic?

Thanks to your comments, I went looking at more about Jupiter’s influence on us and read that most of the other planets are more in line with Jupiter’s orbital plane than the Sun’s equatorial plane (which sounds impressive, but maybe only makes complete sense since the planets would have all initially formed from the same disk). Anyway, thanks

I don’t know. I don’t think we should make excuses for Jupiter just because of its size. Pluto’s doing the best it can. Could any of us do any better, so far out from the sun?

Already, Trump seems to be having difficulty attacking Harris, as he has to work to continually suppress saying the most racist and sexist things he can think of. Imagine if he has to react to the ‘weird’ criticism by continually, on the fly, suppress some of his stranger speaking topics too. I’m guessing the mental load of doing that might put an amusing amount of strain on the old man. Imagine Trump, if the rallies weren’t fun for him anymore. I’m not sure why the senate shouldn’t subpoena him, and have him appear before them to explain just what he means by this. He wouldn’t show, of course, and end up in contempt of congress. Of course, this would make him even more popular with his cult, but we already know who they’ll vote for.

To a non US English speaker it would understandably sound strange

To English speakers who’ve heard it and have given it any thought, it just sounds careless, or stupid

If someone were to point out something like this to me, I’d just say “oops”, learn from it, and move on. I wouldn’t double down on it. It’s like defending ‘would of’, or ‘supposably’ - obvious mishearings of other words. People know what you mean; it is just that you are also telling them something you probably don’t mean to.
