Going alone? On a wide body if the middle has 4 or 5 seats, move to an inside aisle seat next to a couple or group of three, respectively. They’re more likely to disturb each other to get up for bathroom breaks than you. If you can do this with one seat between, that seat will be one of the last to fill.

I love me some window seats, but on the long haul it sucks to have to wake peeps to go take a piss.

Buy a little sign that sticks on your seat to let the flight attendants know to wake you for food or do not disturb.

Butts in seats is the most important metric for our middle management. In my gig if we don’t have a full team, job can’t get done. Middle management is incentivised to have butts in seats. So good luck having any say in who is filling those roles.

Combine that with an industry full of toxic work environment. Yeah, I apply my skill set and go home. It keeps the lights on

It took Obama a term, and some judgements and a settlement against what his administration was up to, to start treating people more like people. And Biden has been “business as usual” as he’s dealt with the influx of humans after COVID restrictions were lifted.

“Trump era border policies” that stopped people from seeking asylum inside the USA were based off emergency response to COVID-19. As that shifted from pandemic to endemic, the USA stopped its emergency response. So yeah, those asylum restrictions also stopped. Duh. Or do you think the federal government should continue using emergency powers to address COVID?

Obama and Biden deported more people in their first terms than were deported during Trump’s administration.
