This but he’s just staring at the phone in his hand which are the same ads, but mobile friendly!

Yes, when it launched in 1970 beef prices were skyrocketing and the economy was weaker. It was intended to “help” stretch a pound of ground beef to feed a family of five, and only take a single pan to cook (previous meals of this type require browning the beef in one pan and cooking the noodles in another)

Right, and this is the guy chosen by Trump who is obsessed with AI and “American Superiority of AI”. The point isn’t to make liability happen, it’s to make sure it’s not a concern of the frontier companies, the leadership of the companies that use the models, etc. They need cannon fodder to appease the masses, headlines that say “pioneering AI regulation by Trump Administration,” just look at the top comment in this thread being applauded.
Funny enough it may have the exact opposite of Trump wants by drastically stagnating the AI industry, but specifically in the US, which will fall behind and then just outsource AI agent building to other nations where these laws don’t apply. “Oops all our agents are built by the cheapest foreign contractor we could find.” Developers leave and don’t take jobs building agents, as they are now responsible for if the model doesn’t follow agent instructions, is prompt poisoned, etc. Companies now have aging, broken, or no agents, and no developers to work on them. The ecosystem of token usage is significantly lower because the language models are there, but there are no downstream consumers of them because to work in that field entails personal liability on systems completely out of your control.
It’s like saying a doctor should be personably liable for if the robotic surgeon device hurts someone. Easy way to get no doctors (who will work for companies in other countries, either in person or remotely, or into other positions) and nobody buying robot surgery devices

This is super cool, surprised nobody has angrily posted about the AI yet

And ensure your VPN provider isn’t headquartered in the US (or better yet any five eyes nation) nor one of the ones owned by the Israeli Billionaire Teddy Sagi who likely also has deep ties to the Israeli and US governments
Which one is it? Gotta be one of these

lol honestly it wouldn’t surprise me if they secretly get paid a boatload by a competitor to buy out a company, when the other company couldn’t buy out their competitor due to monopoly and antitrust law. “Hey can you buy evernote and make it super shitty it’s eating into our market share. We’ll pay you [x] and give you 50% of every subscription by someone who uses the evernote migration feature over the next two years”

They’re already listed on eBay so

They could also very much want the right wing in power in Iran which will then give them enough acceptance in the international community to invade and feed the ever hungry war machine. Palantir usage and therefore profits literally rise if that happens, so it’s in their interest to ensure war as much as possible.

Agreed. They also in many cases remember when the Internet “was good.” When every single website, tool, or product wasn’t tracking every microinteraction, when your email spam was Re: Re: Re: Re: forwards, when social media was a microcosm of what it is today , and when bots didn’t make up like more than half the user traffic. So the shit purpose built to engage kids and boomers falls flat.
And to your point about lying on the Internet, they forget (or flatly refuse to acknowledge) that like a corporation or government can and have easily create user accounts that look like normal people to convince people of things. Just because the name “John Goodbrown” sounds like a down to earth American and his picture is of him and his truck and cowboy boots doesn’t mean it’s not one of thousands of bot accounts created specifically by the FSB to cause chaos and stir opinion.

I think the difficulty is every frame runs in a separate process
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Project_Fission
So an oom killer would have to be smart enough to group each tab’s processes for tabs with iframes. Additionally I think gpu, media decoder, and a number of other processes also run independently, so it would have not kill those (or if it did, all the tabs would probably die, functionally not too far off from killing Firefox)
Is this that “freebasing?” my sketchy uncle keeps talking about?
But also like, the subject is Paid Leave Request. So what is “Dear HR” and “to HR” On standard gmail that would mean his name in his email client is literally “Dear HR”
Someone wanted to make something they thought was funny and did the best they could with the tools available to them
All philosophy is inherently existential in that something must exist to define philosophy to begin with.
Takes a drag of my cigarette and blows it out my gills

And additionally the vast majority of their money likely comes from large enterprise accounts, who couldn’t give two shits about dhh and omarchy, or who also actively support it, racist / fascist dog whistles and all

Yup, the whole point of AI disclosure is that people can skip a project and move on, but some people get off on being vitriolic so they take that as an invitation to post a shitty comment like “lol I’ll pass on the slop” instead of anything constructive. Constructive criticism on my open source stuff is welcome, but certainly not unhelpful comments like that

Ironically more people will likely read through the feature list at least because they are only there to hunt for AI Disclosure and post their rage but now otherwise have to actually know what the project does first and that it was not created with the use of AI second, so they can ignore it and move on, which may be the very reason for OPs comments and all those upvotes to begin with.
Granted it’s a double edged sword because there are also people who are genuinely interested in most new projects but want to quickly pass on something if AI is involved.
Soon, it’s part of the RFK health plan
