  • America as we know it, may be over

Stop. I can only get so hard

The war in Ukraine is about to end

Damn, if only we had listened to the people calling for a negotiated peace since the first moment instead of calling them Putin bots…

    NATO might disband

As a western European, I fucking wish, but you’re too hopeful for that. NATO is exclusively a force for evil, and the only interventions that it’s carried out are the bombing of Yugoslavia and the bombing of Libya, the latter resulting in a decade of civil wars that destroyed the formerly most prosperous country in Africa. Extraofficially (not technically NATO), also the invasion of Iraq. How is literally any of that good.

    100 years of authoritarianism

The US has never been anything different from that. It’s based on the genocide of natives, on slavery of imported Africans, and the decisions made at the government are consistently against the will and the interests of the majority.

    Down with the US empire

  • By giving your unconditional vote to Harris, you’re not saying “I’m voting for the progressive candidate because of trans rights”. What you’re doing is saying “you can being the most republican-minded, Dick-Cheney-endorsed, conservative economically, and gaza-genocider candidate, as long as it’s minimally less harmful than Le Drumpf”. That’s how you enable the constant slide to the right in politics that you’ve seen for the psst decades. The idea isn’t solely “I’m too morally superior to vote for either wing of the American Corporate parties”, it’s also “enough numbers of progressives conditioning their vote to the end of genocide might make the dem administration sway towards ending the genocide.” And if not even that will make democrat leadership even question their commitment to the extermination of Palestinians, then the conclusion is simple: death to America.

If Harris wins, the republicans will nominate “evil candidate Mk.2”, and we’ll have you libs criticising people for protesting against Kamala’s support of the genocide, saying that “protests weaken democrats and we need them to win again in 2028 or else…”

  • Deficit is a good thing for the most part. It literally means by definition the government is putting more money into the economy than it’s extracting, which increases the capacity of families and businesses to save and to spend. Surplus means, by definition, that it’s collecting more money from the economy than it’s reinvesting into it, which literally, by definition, makes people poorer.

The problem isn’t with deficit itself, public expenditure is cool, the problem is where it’s spent. We want fewer corporate bailouts and fewer corruption schemes, and more investment in education, healthcare and pensions.

  • The events that led to the conquest of northern Africa by Arabs took place what, 1000+ years ago? You can hardly argue that “Arabs are colonialists” in modern times by judging 1000+ years old historical events, in the same way you probably wouldn’t judge modern Greek people as colonialists because they speak an Indo-European language and Indo-European languages are spoken all over the continent of Europe and much beyond.

  • Ok, can you please give me other metrics? How many nuclear plants have been built? How much has been invested into new rail infrastructure, whether for freight or for passengers? Have there been any new tariffs on the import of electric vehicles? Any regulation against single family housing, against car dependency, or against meat consumption?

Please, what metrics have improved, other than renewables being installed (at a much lower rate than in many countries)?
