1·1 day agoI mean it’s true they have a lot of stuff, but having stuff alone isn’t all you need to have military success. Stuff is just stuff, it stays still until you use it, and it’s useless unless you use it well.
I mean, something something Bay of Pigs, something something Vietnam, so on and so forth…
Every war is won with 10% weapons and 90% logistics, and a pinch of field intelligence. In a domestic conflict, the “territory” is the same for both parties; it’s very hard to defend a logistics system (the “tail” of your military operation) when it’s in the ‘contested’ territory itself. And this is where the direct action comes in (something something Sabo the Cat!)

6·3 days agoA lot of resources to be expended on domestic soil, eventually they’ll run out of both weapons and the very working people they need to keep the economy running to (among other things) keep producing weapons, no?

News@lemmy.world•Walz calls on federal agents to leave state after second deadly shooting
3·3 days agoI mean on the other hand, Trump kind of does want violent resistance to spring up so provide the Reichstag burning he’s been waiting for to amplify the cracking down. I mean, they kinda already had the Charlie Kirk shooting, and he kind of already can institute martial law whenever (it’s not constitutional but neither has been a single thing he’s done lately), and martial law won’t really lead to anything on its own anyway… I dunno, let’s keep resisting in effective ways. One idea is to make ICE’s life hell so they loathe their jobs and go home.

3·3 days agoGun control is a whole can of worms, there’s places where it works, there’s place where it doesn’t, there’s different kinds of cities and also rural area and just… eh this isn’t really the angle you should engage this topic from imo, even if I agree we should self-defensively arming leftists in general.

6·3 days agoI think in cases like this, I’d rather the responsibility of burden be shifted towards individuals with autonomy than to large corporations. But I suppose in that case (reductionism warning) people might as well just use Linux.
ad infinitum… or ad kidneyitum, maybe
For some reason this sounds like an euphemism and I love it
You can just say intersection

Tox also isn’t that great security wise. It’s hard to beat Signal when it comes to security messengers. And Signal is open source so, if it did anything weird with private keys, everyone would know
