He left to go buy a bottle of blood wine and never came back.
Twice. Remember Jeremy Astor? Yeah, neither does Worf.
To be fair, Jeremy went to live with his aunt and uncle at the end of the episode. We don’t know what relationship he had with Worf after that. Maybe he only abandoned his biological son. That would probably be another reason why Alexander hated him.
Fair. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen that episode, but I do recall it was less Worf adopting him and more of a Klingon “big brother, little brother” program kind of thing. It just slightly irks me that he made such a commitment and it was never mentioned again.
Ah yes, the biannual tradition of Worf remembering he has a son.
It’s still a biannual tradition if we skip it some years, right?
To be fair, it’s weird as hell that there are a bunch of children on what is essentially a warship. Can you imagine what happens in the school when red alert is called and the ship starts shaking from enemy fire? Those kids must be losing their shit. There’s no way they grow into adulthood without serious problems and a decent amount of PTSD.
Worf is the sane one for sending this kid off to live in a safe home that doesn’t almost get blown up every other week.
It’s not a warship, it’s an exploration and science vessel. The fact that they were constantly fighting enemies on the frontlines is a different topic.
Come to think of it, there are no war ships in the Federation with the possible exception of the USS Defiant.
The single most important demographic factor that determines how likely someone is to join the military is the veteran status of their close family members. Starfleet encouraging officers to have kids is just good recruitment policy.
Things sci-fi dystopias say.
Art imitates life
I just watched TNG and DS9 for the fiest time this year, and i have to say that I hate Worf. He’s an insufferable and obstinate hypocrite. In DS9 he is always bitching about honor and sexual purity while constantly trying to pawn his bastard son off onto someone else. He’s abrasive no real reason, and i honestly have no clue why people like hin enough that he was the cameo character after TNG ended.
That’s why she betrayed Schran.
