    ‘How VAR could have vacuumed even more romanticism out the game’ would’ve been a more apt headline, VAR should be scrapped.

    Surely the most obvious and high profile example of this is Maradona’s hand of God? Dunno how they’ve managed to leave that out

      yeah pretty much. There is also 1966 World Cup final - the one that England won. There was a pretty dodgy call on the goal there. Obviously there is only one angle and camera footage is from 1966, but looking at it, it’s next to impossible to believe that this is a goal.

    If VAR existed it would have taken part of the game on more occasions than just the one they cite.

    Major kudos/respect to Michael Ballack for restraining himself from slapping the referee like how Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscar’s last year!!!
