As a Nets fan, I do not understand how other Nets fans see Simmons as “improved” or “back to Philly Ben”. He’s the same as he was last year just with less mental roadblocks. I think the back injury he had has severely limited him and the Ben Simmons of past is likely gone

Because if he has less mental roadblocks he can improve a lot on last season.

It’s literally the same cycle as last year. People see him workout in the off-season and start rooting for the Ben Simmons comeback. He plays one good preseason game and then there’s a huge circlejerk about how he’s back and how all the haters were so deluded for doubting him. Then he proceeds to do fuckall, seems to not care that he’s playing like shit, people turn against him and the cycle repeats.

How did he look physically? He’s never going to be a guy who hit shots but if gets his athleticism back he can maintain being an impactful player

He still seems to want to kick it out on every drive to the basket rather than actually attacking the rim.

This very well may be what peak Ben Simmons looks like with a clogged paint due to lack of 3 pt shooting teammates. I’d like to see what he’d look like on the Pacers beside Halliburton, Mathurin, Hield, and Turner.
