Every year we hear of young teams on the rise that will break through to the playoffs or newly formed super teams that go from pre-tenders to championship favourites, but what about the other end of the spectrum? Which teams do y’all think will have disappointing seasons or crash out of the playoffs all together and why you do think they will?

If Miami didn’t have black magic on their side, they look like a prime candidate for a disappointing regular season

Bam and Butler have to carry the defense once again

This is a pretty weird take. While those 2 are our best defenders, we also have Josh Richardson, Caleb Martin, Jamal Cain, and Haywood Highsmith. Couple that with Herro and Duncan Robinson improving to at least average defenders and defense shouldn’t be an issue for this team.

Bam and Butler basically have to carry the defense once again

Sounds like someone has not yet been introduced to our lord and savior(s) Haywood Highsmith and Jamal Cain

Hmmm. Okay here’s my hot take:

Mobley’s development stalls, his offense is disrespected by most matchups. Continues to be uninspiring as a passer. It becomes obvious he will be best served as a 5, but the Cavs continue to play JA throughout the season. Mitchell and garland play good in the RS. Their whole defense and offense are not robust but again they fool everyone until the playoffs come around and get humiliated again.

    So a slow burn crash

honestly if they end up facing the Knicks again come playoffs, this has a very real chance of happening again. The way the Knicks are built, it’s almost a perfect kryptonite to the Cavs.

Though if it’s any other team, I think Cavs could surprise

I appreciate the spice level of this take. I don’t agree with it, but we’ll see how the season plays out.

    Bulls and Raptors mostly.

Cannot see any other team crashing.

It sucks to be fans of these two teams because they both should have hit the hard reset this off-season but no. Unfortunately for them they are both getting passed by Orlando and Indiana this year. Doubt either make play ins.

I don’t want to be that guy, but even with good health, there’s a solid chance Horford is mediocre to bad this season. He is at that age where the fall off can happen fast. Maybe he’s got 1 or even 2 years of good play left in the tank, but it would be foolish of the Celtics to assume that will be the case.

Neither. It may work cause CP is a professional but I don’t see them being better off for it. He’s a bench piece for this team. Klay can’t guard 3’s he can barely guard 2’s anymore.

Mind you Poole was becoming such a detriment maybe it’s simply addition by subtraction

Ignoring my obvious bias, I think there’s a few aspects of CP3 that are going unrecognized. Everyone is worried about him starting or not but regardless the 5 man lineup where it’s the main 4 plus CP3 won’t get a lot of minutes. Even the original “death” lineup only got around 10-12 mpg together. What CP3 brings more than anything is hopefully some stability when Steph isn’t on the floor and allows Steph and Draymond to match minutes more (which is absolutely huge if that ends up being the case), and allows for overall more lineup flexibility since now they have another playmaker that they didn’t have last year.

Except you forget we have the biggest international star on our team, so the nba will give us the laker treatment this year and give us a bottom playoff spot regardless, even if our roster doesn’t deserve it
