It seems like every year everyone is shitting on Nike for coming out with bad and uninspired jerseys, and I feel like part of the reason for the lack of creativity is the massive amount of turnover.
For example as a suns fan one of the best jerseys that have come out imo were the valley jerseys and the sunburst from last year.
If those jerseys have retired then you most likely can really only go down from there. And I know some teams have it waaaay worse. So why not just keep those popular designs for the next decade or at minimum 5 years?
Imagine a world where teams have there best jersey designs at the same time and for long periods…
The answer is obvious…$$$
bc nike is braindead
They want you to buy a new jersey every year.
More like 3 to 4 jerseys every year
I can understand maybe a new design a season. But these guys are pumping out 2 home/alternates and a city edition every single year. No wonder graphic designers are running out of ideas
So they now have 4-5 different jerseys for you to buy a season, fuck your wallet
Engagement and part of engagement means giving the fans something new. All in the name of $$$$ as said by u/ExoticEmployeeKC
I’m a simple man. I come from the era where you wore your home jersey for home games. Road jersey for road games and had one alternate jersey 🤷♂️. What they got going on now is just super annoying
They have become both apparel and art.
It’s become fashion basically.
More likely to sell jerseys because more people likely to wear them
