86-87 Jordan was the last one to do it. The closest players since then were 05-06 Kobe with 2,832 in 80 games and 18-19 Harden with 2,818 in 78 games.
No one is going to do it, they won’t play nearly enough games, play nearly enough minutes and don’t have the care to work hard enough to put in that much effort, even if their coach allowed them to take that many shots in the first place.
In this load management era? Nobody.
Josh King III in nba2k17 franchise mode did this for 22 consecutive seasons
Jaden Hardy, should he get the opportunity to be the first option and do whatever he wants, like if he was in Charlotte or something like that.
Luka if Kyrie were to get injured and he had the conditioning/injury-free season to play 82 games.
You basically have to be able to play 82 games, but a scorer with that much usage is either getting rested and playing closer to 70-ish games, or is getting themselves minorly injured throughout the season and sitting out a few games every once in a while.
Kinda insane that neither Kobe nor Harden reached that milestone
Harden needed 5 more games at his PPG to get it and he played 78 games. He would have had to play those 4 more games, averaging 45 PPG, to do it.
My pick would have been a healthy Giannis but his scoring is bound to dip a little with Lillard. Maybe Tatum? Looking at last years leaders, he’s the closest in terms of games played, which would be the biggest factor.
No one plays enough games.
That’s pretty crazy Kobe played 80 games in 05-06
Tre Jones because he’s got swag or something idk
Luka if he ever plays 82 games and continues to be ball dominant
Nobody in the near future. Dynamic of the entire league has to change for it to happen. Too much load management, minutes reductions, etc.
Wemby in his prime
What is a “season” moving forward?
If “tournaments” and “play ins” are not part of a season, and the season games decrease - Any record season totals are not likely to ever be broken at that point.
If the play in gets extended as part of the regular season, and the playoffs shortened, then regular season total records would go up, and playoff totals would go down.
None of the current active ones.
Seasons like Jordans, Harden’s, and Kobe’s are like… once every 15~20 year type things.
The amount of games guys play these days, too - he’d have to average well over 36ppg
