Eric Adams absolutely understands how this bullshit works. Him being a moron is actually a point in his favor here, because he understands to aim his statements and actions at Trump on moron-wavelength, where Trump will be able to receive them.

If you read up his crimes, it makes sense that he and Trump can communicate so well and he was able to get special treatment from Trump when a lot of smarter people have failed. Corruption is basically legal in our system and he still managed to do his corruption in this hilariously bad and obviously illegal fashion, which is why he got in trouble. It’s like those stories about the burglar who broke in the house, went through the fridge, drank some beer and then fell asleep on the couch, instead of just taking stuff and leaving.
