I’m kinda thinking it’s his choice… he did some TV stuff last year and seemed to really enjoy it and he picked up being on camera quickly.

I agree but I think he will do awesome with ESPN.

He was basically unplayable in the playoffs even in his 20s, so a good team probably isn’t going to be that interested in him in the long run. Not that it makes a huge difference, but he’s hit the max in terms of accumulating years for minimum salary. Makes him a little more expensive than a lesser-known guy, and that might matter for teams at/in the tax.

For bad teams with money, he probably isn’t all that appealing either, because why not give minutes to a young guy with upside rather than a 30 year old who is past his prime and has zero upside? Since 2019, he’s been on four teams, and it’s not like he has some great reputation as a guy everyone loves (just seems like he’s been a cocky, surly guy his whole NBA career), so you gotta imagine he’s not exactly seen as a role model in the locker room.

Might make sense for a team with injuries to sign him in March. Doesn’t make any sense for him to be on a roster on opening night.

I think Becky will be awesome. I feel like Austin is someone who may end up being pretty hokey as an analyst…jury is out on him and Iggy. Iggy I think will be very good on podcasts, but maybe not TV.

Becky spent some time in NBA Today last year and she was good. Great basketball mind.

I really wanted to see her as a head coach in the NBA and see how far she can take her team. I hope she gets the chance in the future.

Iggy and Evan Turner were on JJ’s podcast a few weeks ago and they had some of the stupidest basketball takes I’ve ever heard. Austin was on Bill’s pod about a month ago and he was delusional. Should make for some unbearable television.

Is Austin Rivers not in the league? Seems like yesterday when he was on the McDonald’s All American game and he showcased his horrible rap skills.

He didn’t retire. No team wanted him. He was whining about the Wolves not resigning him after he was one of the best defensive players in the NBA and a great leader/mentor last season. He made a comment about how he didn’t even complain about not being allowed to show he is still an “elite” offensive player in the league the past few seasons.

        As a Wolves fan, lol.

Austin was unplayable from the moment Mo Bamba entered his head until the end of the season.

Are you disagreeing with Austin Rivers own assessment of his season?

As someone who watched a lot of Wolves games last year, I really never expected any of his shots to go in. I was happy when his shot hit the rim softly enough not to lead to a fast break for the other team.

How has Austin Rivers not been signed? He is an “elite” defensive and offensive player, a great locker room guy, and one of the best leaders in the NBA. He said so himself.
