This is true from the perspective of ‘performance of teams in European competitions in the last 5 years’ but there are other factors that impact the inclusion or exclusion of leagues in statistics.
France is a top 5 league in revenue for example, which is a fairly good proxy to measure how many people follow the league and would therefore be interested in hearing stats about it.
I personally would like all stats to include the top 7 leagues but it gets tiring to see people pretend not to understand why Ligue 1 is chosen as the 5th league ahead of Eredivisie or Primeira Liga.

No one actually thinks the Eredivisie is better than Ligue 1, it’s just funny to make fun of the French.
