Calciopoli is officially over. Juventus gave up their last appeal, bringing to a conclusion the matter which cost the Juventus club relegation to Serie B and the revocation of two championships.

In fact, last October 13, Juventus renounced an appeal to the Council of State, the highest administrative judge, against the FIGC and Inter to overturn the 2016 TAR ruling which had denied compensation for “the unjust damage” that would have resulted in following the decision to award the scudetto to Inter in 2006. The club had made a request for a sum of millions to cover the losses of the period, quantified at almost 444 million euros. Not only the economic aspect, but Juve also asked for the awarding of the title to Inter to be cancelled. The waiver was signed by the Ferrero president. The story is thus definitively archived. The final act remains that of the summer, when the Council of State rejected the Juventus club’s appeal against FIGC (represented by lawyers Medugno and Viglione), Inter (defended by lawyers Torchia, Capellini, Raffaelli, Albisinni) and Coni (all brought before the court).

Widespread match fixing in Serie A where all but 2 teams in the league were found to have some degree of involvement years after but by then Serie A just wanted to bury the event and stuck to their original conclusion of placing most of the blame on Juventus by directly stripping their title, giving it to Inter, and relegating them.

On top of that big point deductions to Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio while giving smaller ones to other teams.

Basically the goal was to bury the event asap and move on so they rushed a verdict and the actual degree of the match fixing only came out years later in further investigations which only showcased an even greater amount of corruption than originally thought.

Totonero scandal was with Milan, not Juventus. So you remember incorrectly.

before that they were doping players like horses

Baseless allegations which were proven false in court.

now let’s wait for the Inter fans to come roaring with pride as if they deserved that shit despite investigation shows Inter’s big involvement in influencing referee decision, but was never investigated due to media leak.

This wasn’t big news though because We all knew in 2011 when FIGC prosecutor, Stefano palazzi, found new evidence that inter had committed sporting fraud/match fixing.

Luckily for them they were saved by a statute of limitations of 5+ years.

For the young ones reading this, hear me out. Go into law after high school- sports or corporate law. Graduate, get a job at Juventus. You’re set for life.

    Those lawyers eat well.

There are better options after Sports Law than Juve.

Want to be set for life - Job at Juve

Want to be set for generations - Job at City

Roma should get the championship, they and one other club were the only ones found to be clean. Nobody can ever tell me who the other club was though and I don’t want to just look it up and ruin the magic.
