Mahomes is pacing to do it, but people over look four key things that few elite QBs are able to do:

keep your team out of salary cap hell. Brady was never the top paid QB in the league. Hell, he was barely top 5 for most of his career.

stay healthy for the most part

stay sharp after 35 years old

get lucky. Brady had amazing teams around him (see point #1), great coaches, and several lucky breaks along the way.
