Scoot definitely felt the bright lights in this one, clearly struggled and showed his young age against Westbrook, George, Leonard & the experienced Clippers.
However, it was encouraging to see him build momentum at the end that he can hopefully carry over into the game Friday vs. ORL.
If you’re coaching this guy, in this first game, given where he was (passive and nervous) through 3… you put him in the 4th and tell him to attack. Let him get those first few buckets, take the jitters off. I’m not worried about stat padding as a theme for the kid.
He needs to learn to read the floor better on both ends, though. He’s a step behind recognizing what’s happening.
