He had the first on Tuesday. Tonight he had 21-9-8. I think most records will be broken but I really don’t see his longevity being matched for decades. Dude is unreal

It’s not even his gas tank. You can tell his mind is no longer on basketball and as he continues to play year after year it will be harder and harder to motivate himself to continue playing. We’re only guaranteed one more season.

I’m going to feel a lot of strong feelings when he hangs it up. Part of me wishes he would play until he’s 45 coaching from the bench and playing 5-10 minutes here and there until playoff time.

yeah, I’m right at the age where I’ve never really watched basketball without him in the league, I suppose it’ll make me feel like a proper adult when he retires

Lebron will be remembered as one of the Titans of sports like Babe Ruth, Wilt, Gretzky. They all are in a class of their own. Stupid to try and rank them against each other. All titans.

Year 21 at almost 39 years old. This is something truly historic and something we have not seen. We’ve seen guys play to 39 but not ever to this level. Not average 29 a game last year with multiple injuries and roster changes around you. And doing so at the efficiency he continues to have.

Appreciate what we have in this man while we still have him. Appreciate him.

    On 21st seasons

Dirk started 20 games and averaged 7 points on 36%

KG started 38 games and averaged 3 points

Willis played 5 games( started 0) averaged 2 points

Parish started 3 games and averaged 4 points

Vince Carter started 9 games and averaged 7 points

Lebron will probably average 21-25 points this season and it’s an absolute joke compared to what came before him

Now do the math on what Kareem’s stats would’ve been if instead of doing 4 years in college, he went straight to the pros or went for only 1 year.

Let’s not forget Kareem here. At Lebron’s current age of 38 (obviously he could not enter the draft early back then) he averaged 23.4ppg and at age 41 in his 21st professional season he still racked up 10ppg

The age comparison is interesting, but LeBron’s age 38 season was last season when he averaged 28.9. If you want to compare age 37 seasons, LeBron averaged 30.3 to Kareem’s 22. What Kareem did was impressive, but it’s really nothing compared to what LeBron is doing at the same age. LeBron is also averaging more boards and almost double the assists while providing all that scoring production.

A shame that Kareem couldn’t have gone straight to the NBA from high school. He easily had the abilities to be able to do it even in that era.

Doc Rivers said Jordan is the best basketball player ever, but LeBron has the best basketball career.

I feel like that summed it up quite nicely.

For decades? I think data would show a century +. This has only been done 2x across the history of American pro sports correct? I don’t think there’s ever been a player in his 21st season in a league playing at an all league level other than Tom Brady and Lebron James

All I’m saying is, no one would have this opinion if Kareem hadn’t been forced to spend 4 years in college.
