I think they think they made a meme
That shit looked straight up like 2k. ESPN crossed the uncanny valley with that one.
In the professional sports media business they call that a, “Big Oof”.
Espn layoffs are real, yo.
Isn’t it obvious they are trying to be hip and young and make a meme? Honestly, this is pretty hilarious.
Yeah everyone in this thread had a preconceived idea because of the title of the post, so they came with pitch forks ready before even watching the clip. It’s obvious they are trying to meme, apparently going over everyone’s heads.
Why are you guys getting downvoted? You’re right.
J Cole even sampled this interview in an song he released 2 years ago. Punchin’ the clock
That’s what I came here to say. Didn’t even need to watch the video to know which quote they used. This shit went viral and, like you said, was literally used in a J Cole song! ESPN fucking sucks lol
What the fuck.
I feel like normally Reddit and this sub overreacts to media, but this is absolutely too far if this really aired on ESPN.
End ESPN!!!
Come on Iger, sell them off to the funny farm!!!
This is a gentle reminder to delete the fuck outta Twitter, the whole website is ass and not just because of Elon it’s been that way for at least 8 years
Fuckin’ facts. There were two things that I did that were instrumental in getting my depression under control: 150mg Effexor daily & deleting twitter.
What are you talking about? Twitter didn’t make ESPN post this. They fact checked the tweet with a community note.
How the hell can you possibly pin this on Twitter??!!
If ESPN played this on the actual sportscenter show people would have absolutely no idea and assume it was normal. The reason we are discussing it is because someone ON TWITTER pointed it out and shared it.
Why would they do this? Did they think nobody would notice?
What’s next? This can only get weirder.
ESPN is just gonna make a tons of lies and fake interviews with AI wont it ?? League should step in this is ridiculous
Super not fooling anyone. It’s also the intro to a j Cole song from a few years ago. I’ve heard it one hundred times
Maybe it was supposed to be a joke?
Sports media has been dead for awhile now. Used to love the ESPN and Bleacher Report around 2015-16 but I had to get them off my social media, it’s too much now.
