So to keep it short and sweet, I have the potential to make a lot of money but I feel like I’m either A too lazy to work to make more or B I don’t have a pain or strong enough desire for money, like I’m not on the verge of homelessness and I don’t have any dire need for money, I hear alot that it’s bad to chase money or it’s bad to want it without having a reason but is that really true? Is my lack of discipline to make money because of bad habits such as laziness or do I not have a good enough reason? This makes me very confused, because I want to make tons of money but I don’t want to make it just to have flashy things. Any advice from someone who went through the same?

You sound confused. It’s just whether it’s important to you. Money is a priority for me because it buys freedom. It allows me and my loved ones to live our very best lives.

Decide if it’s important to you or not and take it from there.

In the same spot right now. But perhaps you’re asking yourself an evasive question. There is something you’re doing wrong that you should fix, and you’re probably being too lazy to fix it. Just fix that, make money if you can, and then you’ll find out if you actually deserve money. IMHO, I’m pretty sure money will make a huge difference is your quality of life; better health, education, travel, contributions to your community and what not.

Read some books on motivation and find your why. Jocko Willink on extreme ownership is a good start. Then Simon Senik Find your why.

The post reads to me like you want the results of hard work but aren’t yet prepared to put the hard work in as you haven’t find a reason to get out of your comfort zone.

See boy , take money as paper representation of things around you , so more money means more things , that includes humans also . Don’t you want more of things around you , this way you’ll becomes things independent, and then you can pursue ultimate goal of being human .

A and b are the same thing.

Just because other people want money doesn’t mean thats what you have to want, you can start businesses that aren’t profit driven or move into the woods and use your own shit as fertiliser for your vegetables

I have a good deal for you , why don’t you give me your idea and project, i will make money from it , i m totally not a competition since i m totally in a different country (morroco) , and i will give you 15% of the profit witch is completely free for you with no effort , so you can make some money without hard work , i think that suggestion is good for both of us

You doubt your ability to make money and you are making up all these excuses to not try.

I’m not flash either but I do enjoy the grind it takes to get the flash money.

At this point with enough zeros, I’m doing it (grind) to see if I can do it and flip a profit.

So basically you have to find your “why”. Your why might not be money or mooo money.

If you can make money do it because not everyone can make money. My goal is to sacrifice my life building generational wealth for my kids and grand kids so that they can live more comfortable than I and my parents did.

My question is what do you need money for? What is the purpose? If you don’t have purpose then making money won’t fulfill you. Find out why you are on this planet and then use the ability to make money as the driving force for you to fulfill your purpose. You are designed to solve a problem and all money does is give you the assets and the tools and the resources to solve that problem for all the people who have it.

Went through exactly the same a “moment” ago. Similar background.
MY perspective is this: I can be perfectly happy just with myself, don’t need much money. All this perspective changes, when you add people to the picture. Like a girlfriend or family.
Then you need enough for secure future and freedom. Maybe You just didn’t get there yet.
My advice: get em beforehand, it’s always harded after you realize you need them.
But, stop at the propper time to still have life for yourself.

I want to make more money because I want to know that me and my family will be okay and that I don’t have to worry about retirement. As a 24 year old, future retirement for all of us is looking bad. It’s just not feasible like it was for our older generations, we will be working until we’re 75. All of my retired family lives off $800-$1300 a month with social security and only two of the family membwrs I’m thinking of had a loaded 401k to help support them.

That’s my real worry is being so goddamn old and STILL having to work just to make ends meets when it’s hardest. That is my motivation.
