Having a debate with an Italian guy about who is the bigger club and I think it’s close.
Both have won their domestic league 19 times and Milan have 1 more Champions League.
Milan probably have more well known legends like Van Basten, Kaka, Maldini, Gullit and Pirlo. But in recent years Liverpool have had Gerrard, Suarez, Alonso, VVD and Salah.
The current popularity of the Premier League helps Liverpool but Milan also has a huge fanbase.
The world’s biggest generation by population is baby boomers, most of whom don’t have social media. Not really a good metric.
Especially when considering Liverpool and other English clubs were banned from European competition during the late 80s/early 90s, a time when ‘celebrity’ started to go global and when Milan had their absolute peak
Half of the planet is on Facebook every month, I don’t think baby boomers are the ones they’re missing
