Genuinely do not understand why it was implemented. Teams playing each other for a playoff spot during the season or some shit?
Why does everyone assume players shouldn’t want to win? I think branding it as an ‘in-season tournament’ and not simply as ‘the commissioner’s cup’ was a mistake. It’s not the grand prize, but it’s a prize teams should want to win. International fans and football (soccer) fans get it, I hope the American media doesn’t try and make it seem lame for talking points if a big market team doesn’t win.

After opening week, the NBA kinda quiets down until ASB. Fans arent as into the games, the players take nights off. The hope is that by making certain games mean more, it will spark more interest during the dog days in November and December
Money, money and um money
Just a silly little thing to add some extra stakes to mid season games. And who knows single elimination tournaments are fun.
It ia fun and the gamws count towards the standings . What is there to not like about it?
