This kid has been so consistent for the Detroit Pistons. Is it crazy for me to think he’s going to end up as an all star or on the all defensive team? At his age he’s got some pretty high IQ and I can for sure see him being a great duo with Cade or any other guard in the future. I hope the Pistons do a good job developing him. The kid will be a monster in the next 3-5 years.

I don’t know if he’ll ever be a consistent all star but I can see him making a team or two. I think his ceiling is Tyson Chandler/ Marcus Camby

I think the fact he could potentially average 4-5 assists a game means his potential is probably higher. But I do think his offensive scoring is much more aligned to Dwight Howard. His shot chart is exclusively in the restricted area.

I’m not sure what his ceiling could be, but I got him 8th round in my fantasy league and he has been feasting so far

I have seen so little Duren. The right track is always defense and duties first and from what I hear.

All-star is a pretty high bar to clear. Plenty of very good players never make it. There’s a tier of bigs for the last 5 years or so: Valanciunas, Adams, Nurkic pre-injuries, Turner, Looney who are all really solid starting big men but don’t see a chance of making allstar, and I think it’s more likely Duren ends up in the next iteration of that tier.

I mean, he was compared to Dwight Howard.

But for some stupid reason, people were like, “Uh, yeah, this guy would’ve been the #1 pick 20 years ago. He doesn’t hold as much value, anymore. How times have changed!”

…Uh, if he’s not proof a Dwight Howard type could still work in today’s league (which was never an absurd notion, to begin with), I don’t know what to tell you lol.

In fact, it’s looking that entire draft was quite good for big men of various types - Kessler, Duren, Chet, Williams
