It’s nice to see the senate opposition functioning.
Edit: 18 hours of holding the senate floor, giving voice to the american people. Lots of tears as american suffering is read out loud for the congressional record. I show no submission to authority. The point of my post, which was meant to be a jab at the armchair politicians / optics gurus / 4d strategists in this chain who were arguing over the effectiveness of starting at 7pm.
Your argument is literally an appeal to Authority.
His argument is that when somebody is performing their job, you generally assume they know what they are doing
What a terrible argument that is, particularly in regards to elected officials.
Not all elected officials are the same.
I used a slight appeal to authority to highlight the ridiculousness of the initial argument. I’m not typing out a million different nuances / hedging everything I say.
Multiple things can be true at same time. I can acknowledge that a sitting senator obviously has some idea of what is / is not effective in terms of when / when not to filibuster while not bowing to the institution itself. Sorry I didn’t add three extra paragraphs about how despite being a US senator… Yada yada yada.
