Yup. I guess the medical term is “Vasovagal syncope” when you pass out from it being overstimulated. but the vagus nerve does a lot of stuff..
Its not the loss of blood circulating in your system that lowers your blood pressure. An average human has 4.5 to 5.5 L of blood, an average blood draw is like… 10 ml, 0.2% of all your blood.
The vasovagal response is somewhat common during blood draws, basically, its a stress/fear/anxiety response, your nervous system iniates it and then your heart rate slows and your blood vessels dilate, widen, and this makes your blood pressute drop… its not the actual blood loss itself causing your blood pressure to tank, its all the other parts of your circulatory system changing how they regulate your blood pressure.
Its pretty common to experience this effect mildly, and temporarily.
But… if you regularly feint from routine blood draws… that is actually potentially concerning, as it may indicate you are anemic, significantly malnourished or dehydrated, have circulatory system blockages, or just generally have significant hypotension, or have some other underlying problematic, very often treatable condition.
Again, routine, regular, every time you get a blood draw, you feint, completely black out?
Thats different than you get a bit woozy and then in 5 minutes you’re fine.
Ironically, you’ll need blood tests to check for a lot of the most common indicators of the most common things that cause routine feinting from a blood draw… you gotta get that bloodwork to start pinpointing root causes.
But it could also be that you just generally have very high stress levels, or some other mental condition.
Or it could be side effects from drugs you are on, including common SSRIs and other mental health drugs, actually contributing to your vasovagal response being so severe that you regularly feint during blood draws.

Using myself as an example:
I fucking hate blood draws.
I literally bought the wallet I have so I can bite down on it during draws.
… But my circulatory response is heightened heart rate, all my muscles clench, I am hyper aware, and thanks to a lot of therapy, I am pretty good at doing controlled deep breathing at the right intensity and rate to keep myself calm.
But I have never gotten lightheaded or feinted, my underlying, baseline blood pressure is about 140/80, a bit high on the systolic… but yeah, my problem is too high blood pressure in a stress response… not the too low blood pressure you get with a significant vasovagal response.
If you are regularly feinting in a blood draw, your baseline might be toward hypotension, too low blood pressure.
I wasn’t getting enough salt in my diet. Which is like winning the lottery.

Similar condition, I have vasovagal syncope. If I hurt myself and get anxious about it I pass out.
Some feelings, like my vein moving, or my skin tearing deeply will send me to the stars.
Oof, I passed out last time I was donating blood. They hadn’t covered where the needle was sticking in my arm, and when I looked over at it, I felt lightheaded and passed out in the chair. Overall not a terrible time but I didn’t donate enough blood for it to count

Me too. I also get anxiety attacks over needles… Last time this happened I was in the ER anyways. I passed out, apparently seized up, they stuck an oxygen tube in my nose and I woke right back up. I remember being asked if I knew where I was and I said “no.” Time before that was when I got my second COVID shot at a drive through clinic… The nurse gave me the shot in my shoulder bone. Passed out in the car while we were waiting and ended up on the ambulance to go down the block to the hospital.
This has happened to me since I was a teenager. I just warn people that I might pass out.

Friend of mine is a burly former spec ops medic who knows a flight medic. A guy who simply loves trauma cases.
And he is recurringly having a vasovagal when getting his own blood drawn. Hehe.
