My dad told me this and I’m not sure if I should believe him. I never watched him play. Anyone have insight?

He’d be a top 10 Center for sure and the Blazers GOAT easily. He was an absolutely phenomenal defender, rebounder, passer, and post scorer.

Not sure if the consensus would ever have given Walton the honorific of “best center of all time.” Bill was way too counterculture for a lot of people to accept. For instance, when Bill got drafted he was actually out hitchhiking. But his UCLA honed skill set was top tier.

Walton with a healthy career is a top 20 player all time probably. I don’t even have him in my top 100 tho due to his awful durability.

Counterpoint, Arvydas Sabonis would be the greatest center of all time if he had come to the US right away.

No He would’ve never passed Kareem Wilt Or Bill Russell

Yes his injuries set him back But imo Jokic has had a better career than him

I wouldn’t say for sure best all time, but imagine If Jokic couldn’t shoot quite as well but in exchange could block shots like an absolute monster and that’s about what bill Walton was

Also side note: there’s no way he was under 7’. I calll major BS
