They are world class athletes with the best doctors, nutritionists, personal chefs and they get paid millions of dollars to stay in shape and play games. They can easily play basketball 2 nights in a row. There are people at YMCA who play every day. The potential injury issue is nonsense. Does anyone have any statistics on how many players get injured playing back to back? and is it significantly higher than non back to back injuries?
Michael Jordan played 9x 82 game seasons, 1x 81 game season, and 1x 80 game season. He played 82 games in his rookie year and 82 games in his last year in the league at age 40. If players really wanted to play every game they can. They just dont want to.
I know fuck all about the physical toll that a professional game takes on world class athletes but I am pretty sure you don’t know that either and therefore probably aren’t in a position to speak to whether or not it’s “easy” for them to do it.
