Lakers get blown out by the Rockets as “future All-star” Austin Reaves puts up another stinker. 3 of his 7 points were from free-throws

Lmfao this thread is just a bunch of comments saying “lol remember when this sub asked if they’d rather have reaves or player X that is considerably better than reaves” and then someone saying “lmao no way someone actually said that” and then the first commenter linking a post from three weeks ago asking that question word for word
He had back to back 20pt games and a good second half cs clippers and he doesn’t get posted but this does
But he was HIM though? Wish I could roast my Lakers supporting friend about this but he’s busy ghostin.
Where was this energy after his two great games prior. No AR is not the second coming of Christ, but bro isn’t normally this bad either.
Another stinker… as if he just didn’t have a 23 point 10 reb 9 assist game two days before that
This is what happens when you over hype a player. He’s out there forcing shots and not letting the game flow naturally all because he’s trying to live up to the expectations that were placed on him by other people. He’s supposed to be the 2nd to 3rd scoring option on a team that’s supposed to be a title contender. There’s your first problem right there. There’s at least 10-15 guys on rosters that are coming off the bench that would better fill that void.
We gotta start using Harrison Barnes as a comp. Good player that can still get you flashes of greatness for a game. But definitively not a star guy.
At first I thought this said “Austin Rivers” and I was like “yeah that’s a bad game for him I guess but it’s Austin Rivers why is this a headline” and then saw it was a 20/per guy and was like “oh, ok”
I like Austin Reaves. I Think he’s a good piece overall for this team. But yeah I dunno why people think he’s going to be an all star caliber player. I think we’ll be lucky if he can consistently and efficiently average around 15 ppg.
looking like that contract might have been fair value all around…
