You have a panel voting 4-1 that it wasn’t a foul.

You have two former defenders on commentary saying it wasn’t a foul.

You have the on the pitch referees deeming it not a foul.

You have the VAR team deeming it wasn’t a foul.

Do people here honestly think so many people are corrupt or inept?

Anyone who’s had some experience of playing football at even a semi competitive level will know that Gabriel was ducking in an attempt to head the ball over. In the immediate aftermath of the goal he didn’t even complain about the foul, he complained about the ball being out.

I honestly think had this incident happened in isolation—outside the two other incidents—then no one would be talking about this anymore. Yet somehow Arsenal fans seem to think that because there were three 50/50 decisions involved in the goal it should somehow amount to 150% certainty that the goal should be disallowed.

Oh wow, a “independent” panel chosen by the PL. And two former defenders who literally got ordered by the PGMOL to defend it? And the refereeing team for the match. Lmao. I can list a lot of footballers and ex referees who said it was a foul, what does that prove?

He ducked to head it away but someone who played football should understand that he wouldn’t completely miss it unless he was being pushed down. It was not a tricky cross. Or do you think it was a coincidence that it hit Joelinton on the arm? Two professionals completely missing an easy header? Maybe you should stick to playing “semi competitive football” and leave the thinking to others

Gabriel would also have prevented it if he hadn’t been fouled.

Gabriel goes down easily to play for the foul all the time. He did it repeatedly in just this match. There is enough of an element of doubt to make this not a clear and obvious error from the referee.

When I saw it live I felt that the goal shouldn’t stand, but everything I saw from the Gabriel challenge part looked a little soft. I’ve seen Joelinton clatter into people, that wasn’t it. Gabriel was already going down for the ball and it’s not as if Joelinton sent him flying.

I wouldn’t have complained if they hadn’t given it from that incident and likewise I didn’t complain when they gave it.

The one that I don’t get is the hand ball, but I just don’t get the hand ball rules now anyway. They’ve made that one even more opaqe.

Wilson chance as well which he should have buried, Gordon at the back post when he gave it a heavy touch. Better chances than your lot managed even after getting 10 corners. Your closest was a shot from outside the box straight at Pope? I could be misremembering.
