Thomas Tuchel:

“We were efficient when you look at our big chances, but inefficient when you look at the half chances. We were a bit sloppy and inaccurate. The way we finished our attacks against Dortmund was missing today. It was a close game, I’m very happy with the energy and determination we’ve shown today. Overall we deserved the win and are happy to have reached the knockout stage”

This is Musiala’s third muscle injury this year. Do you think you have to be more cautious with him and talk to him about it?

Thomas Tuchel: “There’s no use to talk, the doctors will take care of it. We’re not sure yet about the nature of the injury, but we have all the capacities to get deeply into it”

on Upamecano’s substitution: “The doctors made it clear that he’s not ready yet to play every 3 days. With every sprint in the second half, my heart almost skipped a beat. It was too early for him, but he really played well. Will he play against Heidenheim? I can’t say that yet. We have to wait until Friday or Saturday to see how tired the muscle is and how tired the player is”

on Kane: “You can almost take (his goalscoring) for granted because he’s been doing it for over a decade now. But it’s his first change of club, change of country, change of culture. It’s very good that he’s stepped in so early and takes responsibility, he’s a big personality”

on whether Kane was signed to win games like tonight: “Every game is a game which we brought in Harry Kane for because he opens boxes, he opens games and he opens situations. He never loses confidence. We know what it’s like when strikers are in a flow and it’s wonderful”

Manuel Neuer:

"It was a special game, great atmosphere. A night game under the floodlights at home, that’s special for every footballer. Being back on the pitch with the team in the Champions League against such a great team is something special for me.

We had a good presence and good positional play. We managed to circulate the ball well. It wasn’t always easy to get through them because they had good pressing and tackling skills - but we managed to score the goals we needed and get the win"

“We’re always hungry. We won the group, but we want to win every Champions League game. That’s how we have to go into all games. We also want to win our next games”

on Harry Kane: “We can always rely on him. He took his good performances from the Premier League and Champions League with him here. He is a phenomenon and we are proud that he’s playing here with us”

Harry Kane:

“The last pass was missing, it took a while to get to the goals, but we stayed patient. Compliments to the boys for winning the group” [@_kochmaximilian]

"It was a tough game, which is what we expected after the first leg. We got into the dangerous zones well in the first half, the only thing missing was the last pass. We did better in the second half. I’m glad we advanced to the knockout stage

As a striker, I love scoring goals, being on the pitch and winning. I’m very happy to help the team and I’m happy to be here."

on the double VAR check after his first goal: “I was nervous. I celebrated my goal almost three times. I’m not sure what they checked the second time, but I was happy the goal counted in the end”

19 goals in 15 games this season

Kane: “I wouldn’t say I’m surprised, but I’m really happy” [@kerry_hau]

Kingsley Coman:

on Harry Kane: “He does us a lot of good. We’re always used to playing with a #9 at Bayern. Choupo did very well last year. Before him, Lewandowski did very, very, very well. Kane is doing extraordinary things. We’re trying to pass the ball to him - he has integrated very well in the system and plays great passes too. It’s amazing to have such a player in the team” [@CanalplusFoot]

Christoph Freund:

on contract talks with Joshua Kimmich: “Not in detail yet, but of course I’ve already spoken to Jo for a while. He knows his role at FC Bayern and so do we. He is very important - an absolute leader who’s been delivering top performances for years.” [@julianbuhl]

UEFA’s technical panel:

on naming Harry Kane man of the match: ‘Difficult game for Bayern, also for Kane. The sign of a good striker is to be ready for the moments that will come to score. Even though Galatasaray dealt with him well almost all game, he still scored two’

Ooof if Upamecano doesn’t play vs Heidenheim we will see some wacky formations for sure.

It’s time for Pavlovic and Krätzig to shine.
