Okay, so I know that the tournament games will count towards regular season record but to me, this only makes sense for the “group stage.” Not every team is going to make the tournament round. These games are supposed to count towards regular season as well but how does this make sense? Teams eliminated in the first round will play fewer tournament games than those who advance and so on. Are they going to have previously scheduled games deleted from their schedule? Or are the just going to rework the whole schedule based off of the tournament results? Because the NBA says each team will still play 82 games as usual. What is being done to offset these extra games some teams will be playing? Not sure if I’m missing something but it seems like they weren’t taking math into consideration here which is ironic since it’s a cash grab.

Can we please ban these posts? There’s a “I don’t understand the in-season tournament” post every day in this sub right now. It’s been answered numerous times already in this sub, and there’s plenty of info online to learn about it already too
