Only way to find out is to swap them now and see how they fare in one another’s team. Things can’t be worse for them anyway.

Mac has the ability to be decent. He is well above average when he gets good protection. Makes good decisions and is pretty accurate.

However, under pressure he is maybe the worst QB in the league. It’s either some dog shit panic throw that is as likely to get picked as it is to land incomplete or he just crumbles to the ground in a heap. Twice yesterday he slid into the pressure in the pocket.

So if they can get him to pull his head out of his ass when under pressure Mac will survive in this league. If not, he’s just some above average back up.

Zach Wilson is just bad. He just has his vince young moments where you think “Jesus if he could do that every game all game he’s a top 3 player”. Zach won’t survive terribly long in this league unless he has some life changing epiphany.

It’s like comparing Good ‘n’ Plenty to Twizlers…

None of them are on the level of a fucking Snickers bar.

Mac Jones and Zach Wilson are the same player other than Zach Wilson has a rocket launcher arm and Mac Jones doesn’t have an NFL arm.

Alright, since most aren’t really answering the question, both suck, but:

I disagree that zach Wilson has a superior supporting cast. If we ranked the team recievers, itd be Garrett Wilson, bourne, pop, henry, juju, then probably lazard. Give me the depth over the one elite talent, much easier to take the elite talent away when theres no secondary threat. I’d easily take the Pat’s offensive line over the jets. And running backs are a lot closer than name recognition. Breece looks great, but is just now looking closer to 100% after the acl. Dalvin cook looks bad. Meanwhile, rhamondre and zeke both are looking good, and staying fresh while splitting carries. Both can do everything a rb needs to, and compliment each other well. I’d call rb a push.

I’d also argue coaching in the Pat’s have been very superior. The jets rarely have recievers running free. Obrian has been super underrated this year because mac can’t hit an open reciever.

And then to the qb themselves. Zach wilson has the physical talent to make every throw. Mac jones cant throw anything but a wobble to the sideline. Wilson is inaccurate on his short passes. Mac is much more accurate there, but also inconsistent. Both decision making sucks.

If I had to choose, give me the guy with the tools and hope we could fix the mental side of it. Both will be backups very soon.

The Jets have a playoff caliber roster and can’t win with Wilson. Pats have a bottom five roster and can’t with with Mac. This situations are not the same and Wilson is doing less with more for sure

At least Zach Wilson is athletic. Mac escapes the pocket and it’s like an old relative on the dance floor at a wedding.

Physical abilities. Wilson has a stronger arm.

The thinking is since Mac already has horrible decision making, mechanics, pocket presence, etc that it would be better to try developing a guy with all those things who at least has an NFL arm.
