Tyrese Haliburton - Darius Garland - Tyrese Maxey - Trae Young - Jalen Brunson
Who y’all got? They’re all young and really talented PGs in the Eastern Conference. I thought it would be interesting to compare them. It’s not based off their career, I’m asking who do you think is better right now.
Trae, Hali, Brunson, Garland, Maxey
If Maxey can keep this play up for the entire season he can probably reach the top of the list or number 2.

It’s hard to compare because these PGs have varying levels of playoff success as well as play styles. Will be interesting to see if Haliburton’s game will transition well in the playoffs when the game slows way down. In the half-court, Jalen Brunson is the most unstoppable guard out of the five, but in the regular season, the more transition-first PGs will eat in the fast paced regular season games. Maxey’s ranking will also be impacted by how well he does as the first option when Embiid misses playoff games.
In terms of overall skill/production, I would order them:
Haliburton > Garland > Maxey > Young > Brunson
However in terms of current season play, I would unfortunately have to place Garland last, changing the order to:
Haliburton > Maxey > Young > Brunson > Garland
As a totally unbiased pacers fan, I’m putting Haliburton first. He’s just doing as much or more offensively than everyone else; scoring well, assisting at an elite level, and leading one of the best offenses in the NBA, and probably the best offense of the teams on this list. I put him over Maxey because Maxey has Embiid; Hali has Turner.
Maxey and Trae stand out next, and so the question to me is 50 point Maxey the new Maxey? It’s too early for me, so I’ll put them equal for now.
After that it’s Brunson and Garland. I don’t know a ton about Garland, but I get the impression that Brunson is a bit better.
