Ya’ll @KyrieIrving just got me to my year end goal on the filter fund with his surprise donation. If 4 other celebrities would match his donation we would be at my $1M goal for my filter fund. Who wants to step up for this kid from Flint?

On the GoFundMe page, Copeny writes that her community has been without clean water since April 2014 and that they are still recovering.

I’d rather have someone like Kyrie who has controversial political opinions but does things to help the community than someone who says only politically correct things and does nothing.

Saying dumb stuff has consequences for all, because speech influences behavior.

That’s great. Gotta love the fantasy land some people live in where they think we don’t know Kyrie is a good philanthropist.

Pretty sure the Flint water crisis was mostly solved years ago now. Theres certainly gonna be lasting effects, but at this point the water itself is safe to drink. Don’t really blame the people there who have trouble trusting that, but theres not much to help that. Regaining trust takes time.

So like if this charity is giving people peace of mind about their water, then sure sounds good to me even I think Kyrie is a nutjob.

Props to Kyrie, but this story is just depressing. I had no idea Flint still didn’t have clean water. Ugh, so awful.

Yeah…it seems like it. Which is kind of on brand for Kyrie. When he got in trouble for sharing the anti-Semitic video, there was a consensus that he likely didn’t even watch the video based on his comments.

This is probably similar. Kyrie remembers this being a huge issue years ago, but hasn’t really paid much attention since.

Nice to see, it’s hard to raise that much money. I would know, my gofundme for my dog goku (which can be seen in my profile) has been difficult yet I’ve still managed to raise 1800 so far. There are so many scammers who contact people trying to raise money, it’s so gross that people prey on those who are in need. It must work too or else no one would be doing it.

Lol why are all the comments trying to prove something. Good people do bad things and bad people do good things. Just react to the situation by itself. Good work kyrie!

I don’t like Kyrie’s actions related to vaccination. I don’t like his antisemitism either. But there’s no denying he is very charitable and tries to help people.

I agree that all people do good and bad. Kyrie does more in both directions. He’s done more good and charitable work than the vast majority of people. He also has more extreme beliefs and actions on the negative side.

No one is criticizing him for what he’s doing. People are just responding to the people who still think Flint has a huge water problem.

The situation in Flint just has me so sad. I’ve been reading Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha’s book about the crisis and how GM absolutely gutted the city generations before this bomb of a crisis began.

Heads should have rolled, but here we are.
