The most unnatural thing in the world is trying to be 🗿 after something upsetting or amazing happens.
I understand if something is unsportsmanlike like but at this point it feels like players are being thrown out for just getting excited about a nice play.
As a new viewer these are some of the strangest calls I’ve seen in any sport.
The inner skeptical in me is curious if this is a way for refs to manipulate match scores to some degree because it feels so random and out of place.
Edit: meanwhile Dray having a 10 year old childs meltdown every 5 minutes without repercussions? What’s that about…
Curry can turn before his shot goes in, shimmy while galloping up the floor and hold his head while making the “Can you believe it??” face. Giannis however cannot flex after a physical dunk. Guess they favor showboating finesse plays over physicality plays? Either way, it’s lame. Let the players express themselves and reel it in as needed.
Jayson Tatum’s villainous clapping must be stopped
They want it to be a “family sport” so bad they are destroying it in the process.

NBA owners play a crucial role in fostering the growth and success of the league, contributing to its popularity and providing resources for player development and team operations. 👍

Only Draymond is allowed
Human ego. Refs just jealous they have to monitor these beautiful magnificent athletes while they’re dressed up like a gloomy day with a whistle in their mouth.
Did you see how Draymond green decked Poole?
Nba doesn’t want situations like that to happen in a game so they stop all taunting
If a player punch somebody because he was stared at after a dunk, he should be ban from the league. Draymond wouldn’t have done that if that was a regular game and the cameras were on
lol nope
Luka cheeses hard asl whenever he does something crazy
Dray was being petulant because he was ejected the game before and knew they weren’t going to eject him two games in a row. The only way to fix that is to eject him two games in a row. But he called their bluff and they wouldn’t do it. That’s ok tho. If he did get ejected it wouldn’t have looked like he got punked as hard as he actually did, which may, in a roundabout way, be better for the sport than making him sit. Now, I have no idea why CP3 was allowed to continue playing. That’s something for the league office to look at. As far as taunting goes? It’s strange, because for the very same reason you could say they aren’t T’ing up Draymond (to control stoppage, maintain game flow) they are causing the same issues by T’ing up an Ant who just made an impactful play. They also need to figure out an accurate amount of time for people that need to hang on the rim so they don’t fall on their faces, but also won’t damage the equipment. This one has been a real head scratcher to start the season. Lots of trigger happy calls when it seems like players are just waiting til it’s safe to let go.
Ah, I see you haven’t watched the Mavs play yet.
No one gave the real answer which is The Malice at the Palace.
Football, Hockey, Baseball all have a combination of a couple things going for it that NBA does not if fights break out. Namely:
- The players are more padded/ the surface is softer.
- The fans are very far away.
The worst case scenario for the NBA is a player gets seriously injured in a fight (paralyzed/death) or a fan gets involved and seriously injured. NBA players aren’t trained fighters, it’s within the realm of possibility a punch KO’s a player and he breaks his neck on a stanchion.
It’s not necessarily the “emotion” that gets T’ed up. It’s if the refs sense a hint of antagonism to the other team.
Rudy T/Kermit Washington backs your assertion.
Has there been a history of fighting? I don’t see why it would occur during basketball of all sports? Someone post some clips!!
I mean yeah but this is a huge overcorrect
I don’t disagree. To the league office, it probably just feels like it’s not worth the risk to loosen up at the moment.
Don’t you mean why aren’t players other than Draymond allowed to show emotion?
Sooo LeBron James and Luka Doncic don’t exist???
Emotion is a showcase of softness, this league ain’t soft
Imagine MJ getting a tech after making his iconic shot. Would have been epic.
