Trae Young had record low efficiency last year and then he started off with record bad shooting this year and so people call him an inefficient shot chucker. But even when his efficiency was bad he was still running one of the top offences in the league last year, and this year he seems to have gotten even better at passing and has stepped up majorly on the defensive end.
I’m predicting this will be Traes best season so far.
Yeah, I definitely had low expectations for the magic this year, where as the Thunder had an MVP calibre player and top pick 7’1 sharp shooting rookie coming in at 21 with a year of NBA development. Thunder had expectations.
To me the biggest surprise teams are the magic, the Rockets, and maybe the pacers.
OP is such a bandwagoner lmao
It’s just become so hard to hate LeBron, he’s really had the ideal career from a media standpoint. Besides the fact that’s he’s still undeniably great at 39 fucking years old, he’s just never really had any big scandals or anything and comes off like a decent guy at all times, and over a 20 year career if you’re a piece of shit it’ll come out.
Bro I’m the biggest Trae fan there is and even I put the odds extremely low. There is potential, but even if he gets 55+ wins, improves dramatically on defence(which he is starting to do and I think he will continue to improve), has a 50/40/90 season which would be by far his highest efficiency, and going 30/10/2steals, he still has such a narrative against him that he likely wouldn’t win.
I do believe all of this is a possibility(though unlikely), but even then I think the narrative prevails.
Yeah that’s fair
But the 90s and 2000s are still pretty widely talked about as the best era of basketball. Obviously opinions vary and it’s not consensus, but I bet it’s the majority.
And I would be fine with 140 point games if it didn’t come from 50 free throws per team every game.
Yeah, Hali has an amazing assist to turnover ratio like Chris Paul, but he’s also playing on a team that has fantastic spacing and literally runs a fast break on every play, so it’s not like he’s throwing contested assists from ISO nearly as often as Chris Paul.

Love to see it
In the dumpster? Bro needs to expand his horizons beyond 2K and COD
Hawks will win 48+ games this season
Wemby is the exception to that rule. Most of his highlights are defence for a reason, the shit he does is mind blowing. A super tall guy shooting or dunking is not that crazy. Wemby stealing the ball from someone in the paint while his back leg is nearly on the 3pt line, or him getting his fingers on a super high release, high arc shot from 6’7 Andrew Wiggins, that shit is crazy.
Only like 2 attempts a game though.
People are low on Trae. He had a slump season with poor efficiency, and a poor showing in the playoffs.
But this year he has an actual coach with an actual offensive system, so in theory he will get more open looks and his FG% will go up, he will have more open guys and will have less turn overs, and he will have more energy to spend on the defensive end as well as a better defensive strategy around him(we saw an increase in defensive effort at the end of last season with Quinn, and that has reportedly been the hawks main focus). We also have some young guys who are looking very good, Hunter seems to be stepping into his role better, and should just have a much better team under Quinn overall.
Plus, Trae thrives under hate, and he has been getting tons of flack and he was snubbed from the FIBA team. With the Olympics coming up, Trae will have a chip on his shoulder to prove himself.
This will be his best season yet, by far.
Whenever Trae is kn the court they are one of the best offensive teams in the league, and now they have proper coaching surrounding him. The only thing Trae should never be questioned on is his undeniable offensive presence.
This is the correct take.
A better attitude? What’s even wrong with Traes attitude? I think your second point just comes from your fifth point.
Not to knock Hali, he’s an incredible playmaker but a lot of this has to do with the pacers having the fastest pace like ever, they run fast breaks basically all game.
