Reaching the AFC championship really helped Allen.

Since Josh Allen was drafted -

    Cowboys are 54-37 (https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/cowboys-record-since-2018)
Cowboys have 2 division titles (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFC_East#Division_champions) With a 2-3 playoff record and never been passed the Divisional round (https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/dal/playoffs.htm)

Bills are 58-33 (https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/bills-record-since-2018) - Bills have played one more game than the Cowboys Bills have 3 division titles (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFC_East#Division_champions) With a 4-4 playoff record and one AFC Championship appearance (https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/playoffs.htm)

I honestly expected there to be more of a gap but that shows what media perception around the Cowboys does

I would say the Bills are obviously better over that stretch, they won 1 extra game a year and have twice as many playoff wins. How many teams even have 5+ playoff wins in that stretch? Chiefs, Bucs, Rams, and Niners? It also helps that Allen is replacing Tyrod Taylor and doing way better, while Dak is replacing Romo who had basically the same level of success as him.

Huh? Allen replaced Taylor, who the season prior, got the Bills to the playoffs. The season Dak was drafted, the Cowboys were picking top 5 because of how god awful they were.

Wouldn’t it make sense to compare their careers from the start? Dak started off his career with a couple of pretty nuts years while he was injured basically all of 2020 (which was Allen’s best year)

      Since 2019

      Cowboys are 44-31
      Cowboys have 1 division title
with a 1-2 playoff record and never passed divisional

      Bills are 52-22
      Have 3 division titles
with a 4-4 playoff record and one AFC Championship

There’s the gap you’re looking for in media perception…

Dak has had a way better team around him tho. Josh Allen’s first couple of years were bad teams.

Cowboys have been historically better and have more accolades. I think the Bills had an underdog story spun for them and they’re trying to live up to the hype while the Cowboys have 5 Superbowl trophies in the case

It also hurts Dak’s cause that he’s playing for a team whose owner is on media tours every week. He’s under a magnifying glass. You have a talking head at ESPN (one of the most ‘important’ in sports talk) who constantly bitches about the team AND they’re labelled as ‘America’s Team.’

RGIII bein’ awfully blind when he doesn’t factor in a bunch of that ancillary stuff that signal boosts every mistake by Dak.

      edit: words

Yeah, that’s part of the job playing in Dallas.

It’s like playing for the Yankees, you’re going to get more attention and much of it will be negative.

Absolutely. Meanwhile, Josh Allen plays for a team whose most notable feature is their fans slamming each other through tables. No offense, Bills doods.

Allen should have been to a 2nd AFCCG if his defense didn’t allow Mahomes to get a tying FG with 13 seconds left in the game.

Allen’s perceptions are much better because Dak doesn’t perform well in crucial games. Allen has the talent to overcome his mistakes. Dak rarely does.
