Gobert gave his take on the incident, telling The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski and Sam Amick the following regarding Green: “It was a long time, and if he knew how to choke it could have been way worse. His intention was to take me out.”

If Draymond had actually tried to choke Rudy rather than just holding him it would’ve been much worse for sure

I know everyone hates on Draymond, but maybe he wasn’t, you know, ACTUALLY trying to strangle another dude to unconsciousness live on national TV?

Just like he wasn’t ACTUALLY trying to kick Steven Adams in the nuts or ACTUALLY trying to kick Kyrie in the neck or ACTUALLY trying to kick Herb Jones in the face or ACTUALLY trying to elbow Harden in the throat or ACTUALLY trying to poke Lebron in the eyes or ACTUALLY trying to jump stomp Sabonis’s chest. Should I stop here or list the 40 other offenses? Insane to try give him the benefit of the doubt

Kick this clown out of the league and be done with it. It won’t make the Warriors any worse or any better anyway

        You good?

I’m obviously not saying that he wasn’t trying to grab the dude and put him in a rear naked choke, just that it’s stupid to call it “soft” because the intent behind it clearly wasn’t to make Gobert go full on unconscious. It was either to get Gobert off his teammate (if we’ve being very generous), or just to be the bigger bully and win a stupid fight that he wasn’t part of (if we’re being realistic).

You can calm down with your stupid false analogies, because the only point I was trying to make is that you can hate on Draymond for acting like an asshole without making up shit like him having the strength of a middle schooler because he was unable to fully choke a guy out.

Doesn’t matter. People are ejected for incidental contact above the head even if intentional or not. So people should be suspended for intentional contact above the head. It was malicious.

Draymond is an angry person and extremely violent. Kerr and the NBA are babying him and they’ll own future violent explosions by Draymond for it.

Honestly the more Gobert talks about greens perceived intention, the worse the league is going to go down on green. Now that theres a quote saying “his intention was to take me out”, with video evidence of very unnecessary chokehold, the league cant go “wuz akkidnt, 1 game suspns” without huge backlash

NBA: “Because Draymond Green made no reasonable action to harm, as admitted by Rudy Gobert, he will simply be served a $25,000 fine.”
