Redisrupt food delivery. Restaurants, drivers and clients are now all beholden to like 5 rubbish firms.
Restaurants get nothing other than bad reviews, drivers get stressed, client gets cold food delivered late with a $10 option to have it delivered on time.
I’ve actually had an idea for this. Use advertising to pay for delivery services. How? Deploy a fleet of ad wrapped or screen-equipped company owned cars on set routes near populated areas. The cars drive using GPS connected to the ordering platform that restaurants can use to summon drivers. The number of visual impressions from the cars driving around could be high enough to sell to large brands. There would be no mark ups on pricing nor any delivery or service fees. This could be done in urban areas too using couriers on foot with ad wrapped food boxes and bikes. Employees would be W2 with background checks and salaries.
I get the notion of ads ruining our world, but in this case, ads could help.
I like this. With the model Uber etc have deployed, there’s no accountability aside from privately to Uber/Menulog on their terms. Ads would mean more stakeholders wanting to ensure that things are going smoothly. “Are you treating your drivers well? Do they drive well? My brand will not be associated with …”
This comment is correct. Every 6 month, there is a new (food) delivery company getting started, because people don’t understand how difficult the economics are. Best way to burn cash quickly, trust me.
Also, you’re competing with the giants of big tech who have the means and cred to hire the best brains out of Silicon Valley, and have done it for the last ten years.
Not here to shoot down the intention, but there is this false conception that food delivery is “easy”

You pay 20£ for food and one more time 20£ for delivery. How can you order from Uber or another shitty app…
Food delivery is the most saturated….and what we have is what we got. The price is high because food delivery is expensive

Very hard industry to disrupt though and low margins and high startup costs. Unless its a killa application
