Last year we shot my daughter with Santa at F2/800iso/1-125 with my 56mm and 23mm. Since then I’ve gotten a 17-70mm 2.8 that I thought might be easier, but the 2.8 I’m thinking might not let in enough light. I don’t think I can go slower on the shutter and upping iso might not be optimal. Thoughts?
bump your iso up
For god sakes! You’re taking Santa pics and worrying about quality? I’m sorry but I’ve had enough Reddit for the day.
Use an external flash / external lighting?
Use the ISO. Don’t join the “high iso is evil” cult
Flash or ISO are your options. Learn how to use a flash!
Looking at the lens line up, you’ve got a modern mirrorless camera. The drama starts at ISO 3200 or 6400 depending what you find acceptable. Even better, shoot wide open, shutter speed 1/125th and auto iso.
I generally do use auto iso but may need to adjust a bit. Thanks!
ISO should do the trick I can run my Cannon R10 up too 13k iso without near any noise.
