I know some will say it’s Cade but he’s been really inefficient this year with 21ppg in 20 shots on 49 TS. Ausar elevated the pistons defense this year they went from 27th to 19th. If you watch the games you can tell he’s already one of the top defenders in the game being a pest on the court every night along with 2bpg and 1spg. Not to mention this guy is only 6’7 and a beast on the boards averaging 10ppg whilst providing decent playmaking on 4apg. He’s a jumpshot away from being a star.

He’s not even the second best and honestly this shows how little you know about basketball or watch teams.

    What a completely horrific take.

Ausar Thompson will be the best player on the Pistons in a couple years. But for now, no, it’s not even close. He’s way too raw offensively

I think the answer is Cade. BUT. I think Ausar is the best player in his role. Cade isn’t looking like a number 1 option on offense currently. And Ausar looks like a grade A role player who impacts the game a lot without the ball in his hands.

Cades been struggling but he ain’t THAT bad, and that’s not to take away from Ausar at all I think he should be on an all defense team he’s that good on defense, some the attention cade gets allows Ausar to get good buckets too. Ausar lacks a shot along with a elite handle/ creation skills.

But going to take it in a little different direction. This pistons team aside from Ausar and sasser has been a shitshow. People on that medical staff need to be fired or whatever clown show in the front office because there’s no way 12 games into the season you miss 7 rotation players for multiple games, and this has been happening for years where important players miss a lot of time.

I think with more shooting and shot creating coming back after injuries, Ausar will be more efficient later into the season with more spacing. Without that he’s still found ways to be effective due to being a high iq player with other worldly athletic. Have some worries with his handling and shot creation as said before, sometimes hes dribbled the air out and turns it over right to the defender, other times he can get to his fadeaway or angle for a layup and leaves you wondering “how the hell did he get that off” Other than that Sky is the limit with his basketball passion, I’m just worried this shit pistons franchise will ruin him in some way. He’s been playing a lot throughout his life and even now, and for someone that has been relying on athletic gifts just a little worried long term because of this shit handling of players, that’s only because he’s so good right now.

If anything I think a healthy Duren with cade, they make each other so much better. Duren had a huge impact on the team, he does all good things big men do while passing well and being an athletic freak

Even with all the injuries it’s not a coincidence that when Duren went down the pistons became a shit show playing bagley and wisemen minutes

Holy shit wisemen is so bad sometimes

Not sure who is the best player, I just have to say that I don’t remember seeing a rookie playing an outside position being such a good defender out of the gates.

To say Cade’s playmaking is decent is generous, one of the laziest playmakers I’ve ever seen, makes the most telegraphed dangerous passes constantly which always ends up being intercepted or deflected

Ausar is the player every other team would take from the Pistons if they could choose one guy. He fits on any team. Cade has a higher offensive ceiling, most likely… but its close.
