I want to buy ticket to a game for my husband for Christmas. He is a fan of Miami Heat, but it’s not possible to go to Miami atm. So, I was hoping I could find a game in the northeast that is playing and hopefully it won’t disappoint him too much.

The concern I have is that I don’t know how the game works and I’m worried that if I buy tickets for a game in January, the teams might not make it to that game and it will get refunded.

Would it be dumb of me to buy tickets 2 months in advance? Also, would you as a nba fan still want to watch a game if it wasn’t your team playing?

You are safe to buy tickets now. The games don’t change. Regular season games are scheduled all the way through the end of April. Short of there being some act of God: hurricane, blizzard, pandemic shut down etc. The games will played as scheduled.

It is playoff games that are not yet known. Those are based on the results of the regular season. They start at the end of April. But even then, only the teams that are actually in the playoffs will sell tickets and you’ll know who is playing in those games ahead of time. Can’t accidentally buy tickets and different teams show up or don’t show up at all.

So feel free to buy tickets now to any game in your area where the Heat are the opponent. They’ll be there.
