Surprisingly accurate ranking of the historical top teams in Europe imo. Maybe Portugal and England should switch places but other than that? Italy and Germany on par, clearly the top 2 nations by a margin

Why would Portugal and England switch places?

The numbers are there, what’s the logic? Besides, Portugal has actually won it unlike England.

I mean we were in a group with West Germany, Netherlands and Czechoslovakia. We still managed a draw with the eventual champions, not bad for a first tournament!

At that time only 8 teams qualified too

2016 was the only good time for us in this competition. When lewandowski opened the scoring against Portugal in the quarter final, I started to get excited. Was a nice 10 minutes

Should see my country(Scotland) on the list of 37 teams. Only ever qualified for 3 Euros and were terrible at them all.

You played against England at all of them didn’t you? That’s some bad luck

I dont think we were terrible in 92. Only 8 teams qualified meaning, in theory, us being there made us one of the top 8 in europe.
We were in a group with the world champs Germany & a dutch team with - are you ready for this - Koeman, Bergkamp, Gullit, Rijkaard AND Van Basten. Only 2 teams could go through. We lost to both, but put in a good show. And then we fucking whipped the Euro 88 finalists. Like, absolutely hammered them. That’s not doing terrible. I think we could’ve qualified from the other group.

We were unlucky in ‘92 and went out in ‘96 on goal difference (we were going through until Seaman let the ball go through his legs when England pumped the Netherlands). We were shit at the last one.

Well, they’re not counting our last 16 defeat of Switzerland at euro 2016 because it finished 1-1 and we won the penalty shootout. Really we have 3 wins, but yeah. All of those wins came at that tournament too, we beat Northern Ireland and Ukraine in the group stage there

Germany, Netherlands and Wales are the only team with 50% or higher win ratio.

    We’re fucking massive.

How are Austria ahead of Scotland? Pretty sure we are 2-2-5. Goal difference?

    Also, why isn’t it complete?

russia almost being the same level as ussr is quite impressive, quite a bit of losses though but almost surpassing what they previously played for combined with other ex ussr members, also croatia being so high and the highest for nations established since the 1990s, we easily could be the level of netherlands if croatia was separate since ww2
