I am talking about a player that is not as bad as people make him out to be, or perhaps that is held to an unreasonable standard. Like, yo, that is our third string center, OF COURSE he’s not going to be as good at (fill in the blank starter). A lot of times this is a star too of course. Or maybe it is a guy that is in fact good, but since he’s getting paid X amount, then he gets hate because he’s not prime MJ.

And as a bonus, who is the player that you think gets irrational support from this same fanbase?

    Nobody for the Heat, at least on r/nba and r/heat, I stay out of twitter most of the time. But to answer your bonus question, I feel like Josh Richardson is getting irrational support ever since we signed him back. We all like him a lot and he’s an awesome dude, but we need to objectively realize that his ceiling is average, not even above average.
